Today is July 1, and I’ve been working for about a month. I’ve created a small (one cubic meter) simulation with a light source, air, and a little butterfly. To graphically render the simulation, I have to slow the tick down to 1/50 real speed, so my experiences of the simulation have been slow and unsatisfying, but beautiful.

It’s August 20. I have now fully modeled the house and increased the simulation size to fit it. The simulation is currently running at quarter-speed and low resolution. Unfortunately this means that Bart is not really human. Instead, he’s a living corpse. This is because the resolution is not high enough for his brain to operate.

Today is September 21. I have a few bugs and performance issues to work out. Once those are fixed, I expect Bart will be able to “come alive,” so to speak. This should take two weeks.

Well, it’s October 31 — Happy Halloween! It took me a bit longer to work out these bugs, but it all seems to be working! I’ll turn it on tomorrow. Right now I need to sleep.
